Photobiological Safety (IEC 62471)
Modern stage lighting, especially powerful LED and discharge lamps, can pose a risk to eyes and skin if
not handled correctly. We perform risk assessments based on international standards.
Our Services
- Measurement and Classification: We assess light sources according to "Risk Groups"
(Exempt, RG1, RG2, RG3) to uncover potential hazards like "Blue Light Hazard" (retinal damage) and
thermal injuries.
- Laser Safety: Approval and securing of laser shows. We check that audience zones
are safe (MPE - Maximum Permissible Exposure), that emergency stops work, and that operators have
necessary certificates.
- Stroboscopes and Epilepsy: Consultancy regarding the use of flashing lights to
minimize the risk of photosensitive epilepsy among the audience.
- UV Radiation: Check of UV sources (blacklight) to ensure exposure stays within safe
limits.
Safety for Everyone
Correct lighting design is not just about aesthetics, but also about protecting the vision and health of
both artists on stage and the audience in the hall.
